I visited the ARKEN Museum for Moderne Kunst a little ways south of Copenhagen. Their current exhibits are focused on "dry I kunsten" or "animals in art", which had some remarkable pieces. The museum is also sited in a lagoon with a sculpture park. Overall, this is the perfect size museum where you leave feeling energized by the creativity instead of zapped from being in a maze for too long.
One weird realization was that I felt like I was breaking the rules the whole time by taking photos (and didn't dare use a flash). What a shift in how we experience and interact with art. Why don't I think twice about it in a science museum? Why do I feel the need to make art of art? I can assure you that these are very much the compressed jpg version of a high resolution raw world. I also bought some posters to make myself feel better.
